IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals team profile - RR Full squad, RR players to watch out for
IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals have a battery of overseas stars who need to step up this season to help the team realize its potential.
After a historic triumph in their first season, the Rajasthan Royals were unable to leave their mark on the competition. However, they always had a good squad at their disposal, but they slipped at crucial moments, and it cost them dearly. However, this season may be different as they have captured key players and their biggest strength is their overseas contingent.
The full roster of the Rajasthan Royals:
Mahipal Lomror, Manan Vohra, Ryan Parag, Steve Smith, Robin Uthappa, David Miller, Ankit Rajput, Mayank Markand, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Varun Aaron, Jaidev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi, Akash Singh, Oshein Thomas, Sto Andrews , Rahul Tevatia, Shashank Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Anirudha Joshi, Tom Curran, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Anuj Rawat
Three Indian players to watch out for
Jaydev Unadkat
Unadcat was the most expensive Indian player at the 2018 auction when it was bought for Rs 11.5 crore. He was released but was bought out by the royal family even at these auctions. The left-back was in sensational form for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy and looked menacing every time he led an attack. He hasn't had any good IPL seasons in the past and would like to lead the national team this year.
Sanju Samson
Samson has always been impressive for the Rajasthan Royals and will be key for them even this season. He has managed to secure a spot on the Indian team and a good season here could make him one of the best batsmen in the T20 World Championship slated for later this year.
Robin Uthappa
The right-hander has been snapped up by the franchise and is expected to add a lot of weight to the batting order, especially in the absence of Ajinkya Rahan.
Three foreign players to watch out for
Ben Stokes
After storming the IPL with Rising Pune Supergiant in his 2017 inaugural campaign, Stokes has been a bit overwhelmed by his very high end-term standards. One of the best all-rounders in the modern game, the English star will be looking to resume normal service this year.
Jofra Archer
The Sussex wagon, who played for the West Indies at U-19 level, was a phenomenal addition to the England squad. He is the winner of the World Cup but currently has no injury cloud. The Royals hope he can recover in time to lead the bowling attack.
Steve Smith
The Australian will lead the Rajasthan Royals this year and is expected to take charge of the hitting order at the top of the order. He has the game and the class to become a world leader, and the Royals are hoping their skipper will be the leader this season.
